Erin Nielsen Ogdahl grew up in Hurley, SD. She earned her undergraduate degree from Colorado State University in 1998, her master’s degree from the University of Denver in 2003, and her law degree from the University of South Dakota in 2006. Before returning to South Dakota to attend law school, Erin worked in several treatment settings in Colorado as a counselor. Through these positions she gained valuable experience working with families, adolescents, those with drug and alcohol addictions, and domestic violence victims and offenders. After completing law school, she took a job in Willmar, MN with Central Minnesota Legal Services extending her passion for helping those people going through difficult life situations. In establishing Family Guidance Services, Erin aims to utilize her skills as a social worker and family law attorney to provide a comprehensive approach to the problems that arise in family matters. She is dedicated to protecting the interests of both parents and especially those of the children involved. Erin lives in Sioux Falls with her husband Scott. She is happy to be back in South Dakota and is looking forward to becoming involved in the community. She enjoys traveling, being in the outdoors, and reading.
